The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species has not assessed this species yet, but preliminary studies conducted by the Royal Botanic Gardens, suggest that it is highly threatened due to unsustainable grazing, agricultural activities, and construction activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4a4a4a;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehmej.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/iris2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-425\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ehmej.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/iris2.jpg\" alt=\"iris sofrana\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ehmej.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/iris2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.ehmej.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/iris2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4a4a4a;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Another important threat to the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Iris sofarana<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0is the beauty of its flower, making it prone to uncontrolled collection by locals and plant traders.
